He was asked about the lower garment, and he replied, "You have come to one well-informed. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'The believer's lower garment should reach to the middle of his shins. There is no blame, or no harm, upon him for what falls between that and the ankles. Whatever goes below that is in the Fire. Allah will not look at one who trails his garment out of arrogance.'"
حدثنا محمد بن أبي عدي عن شعبة عن العلاء بن عبد الرحمن عن أبيه أنه
سئل عن الإزار فقال على الخبير سقطت سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول إزرة المؤمن إلى أنصاف الساقين لا جناح أو لا حرج عليه فيما بينه وبين الكعبين ما كان أسفل من ذلك فهو في النار لا ينظر الله إلى من جر إزاره بطرا
