I heard a man ask Abu Hurayrah, "Are you the one forbidding people to pray in their sandals?"He replied, "No, by the Lord of this sacred place. No, by the Lord of this sacred place. I saw Muhammad ﷺ pray facing this very station wearing his sandals, then leave with them still on his feet."

سمعت رجلا سأل أبا هريرة أنت الذي تنهى الناس أن يصلوا في نعالهم قال ها ورب هذه الحرمة ها ورب هذه الحرمة لقد رأيت محمدا ﷺ يصلي إلى هذا المقام في نعليه ثم انصرف وهما عليه
