A man asked him, "Are you the one who forbids people from fasting on Friday?"He replied, "Yes, by the Lord of this Kaabah. Yes, by the Lord of this Kaabah. Yes, by the Lord of this Kaabah," repeating it three times. "I heard Muhammad ﷺ say, 'None of you should fast Friday alone, unless it falls within days he is already fasting.' And I saw Muhammad ﷺ pray while wearing his sandals, and he walked away with them still on."
حدثنا يحيى بن آدم حدثنا شريك عن عبد الملك بن عمير عن زياد الحارثي قال سمعت
له رجل أنت الذي تنهى الناس عن صوم يوم الجمعة قال فقال ها ورب هذه الكعبة ها ورب هذه الكعبة ثلاثا لقد سمعت محمدا ﷺ يقول لا يصوم أحدكم يوم الجمعة وحده إلا في أيام معه ولقد رأيت محمدا ﷺ يصلي وعليه نعلاه وينصرف وهما عليه
Its chain of transmission is hasan due to Sharik. The hadith has already appeared at 9421.As for his saying, "bi-naalaahu" (with his two sandals), this is how it appears in T, while in H and in D it is "bi-naalayhi." As for "bi-naalaahu," it is permissible according to the dialect of those who treat the dual as indeclinable, as in the poet's saying, "ishtaha tibyaana," where the correct form should have been "ashtahi tibyayn" (I desire two physicians). Likewise the poet's saying, "inna abaaha wa aba abaaha" (indeed her father, and the father of her father).
