Abu Hurairah reported,

The Prophet ﷺ said that a man saw a dog licking moist earth out of thirst. The man took off his shoe and began scooping water with it for the dog until he had quenched its thirst. So Allah was grateful to him and admitted him into Paradise.

عن النبي ﷺ أن رجلا رأى كلبا يأكل الثرى من العطش فأخذ الرجل خفه فجعل يغرف له به الماء حتى أرواه فشكر الله عز وجل له فأدخله الجنة
