Abu Hurairah reported,

The people were caught by a strong wind on the road to Mecca, and it grew severe upon them. Umar said to those around him, "What is this wind?" but they gave him no answer. Word reached me of what he had asked about, so I urged my mount forward until I caught up with him.I said, "Commander of the Faithful, I was told you asked about the wind. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'The wind is from the mercy of Allah عز وجل. It brings mercy and it brings punishment. So do not curse it. Ask Allah for its good and seek refuge in Him from its evil.'"
