The Prophet ﷺ said, "When two people exchange insults, the sin of what they say falls upon the one who started it, unless the wronged party exceeds the bounds."
حدثنا روح حدثنا شعبة قال سمعت العلاء بن عبد الرحمن بن يعقوب عن أبيه
عن النبي ﷺ أنه قال المستبان ما قالا على البادئ حتى يعتدي المظلوم
