The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If he becomes intoxicated, flog him. If he becomes intoxicated again, flog him. If he becomes intoxicated again, flog him. Then if he returns to it a fourth time, strike his neck."
حدثنا يزيد أخبرنا ابن أبي ذئب عن الحارث بن عبد الرحمن عن أبي سلمة
قال رسول الله ﷺ إذا سكر فاجلدوه ثم إن سكر فاجلدوه ثم إن سكر فاجلدوه ثم إن عاد الرابعة فاضربوا عنقه
Its isnad is sahih. Abu Dawud reported it, 4/164, no. 4484, in the Book of Legal Punishments, chapter on repeatedly drinking wine, as did Tirmidhi, 4/480, no. 1444, Ibn Majah, 2/859, no. 2573, Tabarani in Al-Kabir, 7/366, and Ibn Hibban, 364, no. 1518, Al-Mawarid.
