Ibrahim reported,

Alqama bin Qays struck this pulpit and said, "Ali addressed us from this very pulpit. He praised Allah and extolled Him, mentioned what Allah willed him to mention, then said, 'The best of people after the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was Abu Bakr, then Umar . After the two of them, we introduced innovations concerning which Allah will pass His judgment.'"

حدثنا عبد الله حدثني أبو صالح الحكم بن موسى حدثنا شهاب بن خراش حدثني الحجاج بن دينار عن أبي معشر

عن إبراهيم النخعي قال

ضرب علقمة بن قيس هذا المنبر وقال خطبنا علي رضي الله عنه على هذا المنبر فحمد الله وأثنى عليه وذكر ما شاء الله أن يذكر وقال إن خير الناس كان بعد رسول الله ﷺ أبو بكر ثم عمر رضي الله عنهما ثم أحدثنا بعدهما أحداثا يقضي الله فيها
