The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade fasting continuously without breaking the fast.They said, "But you yourself fast continuously."He replied, "I am not like you. I remain with my Lord, and He feeds me and gives me drink. Take upon yourselves only such deeds as you can bear."
وبإسناده هذا نهى عن الوصال قالوا إنك تواصل قال إني ليس مثلكم إني أظل عند ربي يطعمني ويسقيني اكلفوا من الأعمال ما تطيقون
Its isnad is sahih. Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Wishing, in the chapter on what is permissible regarding the use of "if only," and Muslim narrated it in the Book of Fasting, in the chapter on the prohibition of fasting continuously without breaking the fast. The hadith has already appeared at 9380.
