The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about praying in a single garment, and he replied, "Does every one of you have two garments?"
حدثنا أبو معاوية قال حدثنا عاصم عن ابن سيرين
سئل رسول الله ﷺ عن الصلاة في الثوب الواحد فقال أوكلكم يجد ثوبين
Its isnad is sahih. Bukhari related it, 1/102, in the book of prayer, chapter on praying in a single garment. Abu Dawud related it, 625, in the book of prayer, chapter on the various garments one may pray in. Nasai related it in the book of prayer, chapter on praying in a single garment. And Ibn Majah related it, 1/333, number 1047.
