I went out to Mount Tur and met Kaab al-Ahbar, so I sat with him. He spoke to me about the Torah, and I spoke to him about the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Among the things I told him was that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday. On it Adam was created, on it he was sent down to earth, on it his repentance was accepted, on it he died, and on it the Hour will be established. Every animal listens attentively on Friday from morning until sunrise, fearing the coming of the Hour, except for jinn and humans. In it there is an hour during which, if a Muslim servant happens to be praying and asks Allah for something, He will grant it to him."Kaab said, "That is one day in every year."I said, "Rather, it is in every Friday."Then Kaab read the Torah and said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ has spoken the truth."Abu Hurairah said, Then I met Abdullah bin Salam and told him about my sitting with Kaab and what I had related to him concerning Friday. I said to him, "Kaab said that it occurs one day in every year."Abdullah bin Salam said, "Kaab was mistaken."I said, "Then Kaab read the Torah and said, 'Rather, it is in every Friday.'"Abdullah bin Salam said, "Kaab has spoken the truth."
قال قرأت على عبد الرحمن: مالك عن يزيد بن عبد الله بن الهاد عن محمد بن إبراهيم بن الحارث التيمي عن أبي سلمة بن عبد الرحمن
خرجت إلى الطور فلقيت كعب الأحبار فجلست معه فحدثني عن التوراة وحدثته عن رسول الله ﷺ فكان فيما حدثته أن قلت إن رسول الله ﷺ قال خير يوم طلعت فيه الشمس يوم الجمعة فيه خلق آدم وفيه أهبط وفيه تيب عليه وفيه مات وفيه تقوم الساعة وما من دابة إلا وهي مسيخة يوم الجمعة من حين تصبح حتى تطلع الشمس شفقا من الساعة إلا الجن والإنس وفيها ساعة لا يصادفها عبد مسلم وهو يصلي يسأل الله شيئا إلا أعطاه إياه قال كعب ذلك في كل سنة مرة فقلت بل هي في كل جمعة فقرأ كعب التوراة فقال صدق رسول الله ﷺ قال أبو هريرة ثم لقيت عبد الله بن سلام فحدثته بمجلسي مع كعب وما حدثته في يوم الجمعة فقلت له قال كعب ذلك في كل سنة يوم قال عبد الله بن سلام كذب كعب ثم قرأ كعب التوراة فقال بل هي في كل جمعة قال عبد الله بن سلام صدق كعب
