The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There are three whom Allah will not speak to on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He look at them, nor will He purify them, and they will have a painful punishment: an old man who commits adultery, a king who lies, and a poor man who is arrogant."
Its isnad is sahih. Muslim narrated it in the Book of Faith, "Three whom Allah will not speak to," with its wording, and Nasai narrated it in the Book of Zakat, "The poor arrogant one," and it has already appeared at 9560 in the printed edition. His saying "aail mustakbir" means a poor man burdened with dependents who is arrogant.
