Some dates from the charity collection were brought to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he gave instructions concerning them. Then he lifted Hasan, or Husayn, onto his shoulder, and noticed that the child's saliva was dribbling. When he looked at him, he saw that he was chewing on one of the dates from the charity.He said, "Spit it out. Don't you know that the family of Muhammad ﷺ does not eat what is given in charity?"
وبإسناده هذا أتي رسول الله ﷺ بتمر من تمر الصدقة فأمر فيه بأمر ثم حمل الحسن أو الحسين على عاتقه وإذا لعابه يسيل فنظر إليه فإذا هو يلوك تمرة من تمر الصدقة قال فقال ألقها أما شعرت أن آل محمد ﷺ لا يأكلون الصدقة
