The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When one of you puts on his sandals, let him begin with the right, and when he takes them off, let him begin with the left. Let the right be the first to be put on and the last to be taken off."
حدثنا إسحاق قال أخبرنا مالك عن أبي الزناد عن الأعرج
قال رسول الله ﷺ إذا انتعل أحدكم فليبدأ باليمين وإذا نزع فليبدأ بالشمال ولتكن اليمنى أولهما تنعل وآخرهما تنزع
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Bukhari related it in the book of Clothing, 7/199, with the wording "removing the left sandal," and Muslim, 3/1660, no. 2097, in the book of Clothing, chapter on the recommendation of wearing sandals, and Abu Dawud, 4139, and Tirmidhi, 1779, and Malik, 2/916.
