He prayed with the Prophet ﷺ, and during his bowing he would say, "Glory be to my Lord, the Magnificent," and during his prostration he would say, "Glory be to my Lord, the Most High." He did not pass a verse of mercy without pausing at it to ask, nor a verse of punishment without pausing at it to seek refuge.
حدثنا حفص بن عمر حدثنا شعبة قال قلت لسليمان أدعو في الصلاة إذا مررت بآية تخوف فحدثني عن سعد بن عبيدة عن مستورد عن صلة بن زفر
أنه صلى مع النبي ﷺ فكان يقول في ركوعه سبحان ربي العظيم وفي سجوده سبحان ربي الأعلى وما مر بآية رحمة إلا وقف عندها فسأل ولا بآية عذاب إلا وقف عندها فتعوذ
Muslim narrated it in the Book of the Prayer of Travelers, Chapter on the Recommendation of Lengthening the Recitation in the Night Prayer, no. 772, from the hadith of Sulayman Amash, through this same chain.
