I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ raise his hands when he began the prayer, and he did not raise them again until he finished.
حدثنا حسين بن عبد الرحمن أخبرنا وكيع عن ابن أبي ليلى عن أخيه عيسى عن الحكم عن عبد الرحمن بن أبي ليلى
رأيت رسول الله ﷺ رفع يديه حين افتتح الصلاة ثم لم يرفعهما حتى انصرف
[Its chain is daif] Abu Yaala narrated it in his Musnad, no. 1689, and Tahawi, 1/224, from the hadith of Waki through this route.Muhammad bin Abdul-Rahman bin Abu Layla is daif, the majority graded him daif. Anwar Shah Kashmiri Deobandi said, "He is daif in my view, as the majority held" (Fayd Bari, 3/168). This report comes from Yazid bin Abu Ziyad, as stated in Kitab al-Ilal of Imam Ahmad, no. 693.
