The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "People will keep hanging back from the first row until Allah pushes them back into the Fire."
حدثنا يحيى بن معين حدثنا عبد الرزاق عن عكرمة بن عمار عن يحيى بن أبي كثير عن أبي سلمة
قال رسول الله ﷺ لا يزال قوم يتأخرون عن الصف الأول حتى يؤخرهم الله في النار
[Daif] Bayhaqi (3/103) narrated it through Abu Dawud's chain of transmission. It is also found in the Musannaf of Abdul-Razzaq (2453), and Ibn Khuzayma (1559) and Ibn Hibban (392) graded it sahih.Ikrima bin Ammar did not explicitly state that he heard it directly from Yahya bin Abu Kathir, and the majority of scholars also criticized his narration from him.
