The Messenger of Allah ﷺ led us in the dawn prayer at Mecca. He began reciting Surah al-Muminun, and when he reached the mention of Musa and Harun, or the mention of Musa and Isa (Ibn Abbad was uncertain, or the narrators differed), the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was overcome by a fit of coughing, so he cut off the recitation and bowed. Abdullah bin Saaib was present for this.
حدثنا الحسن بن علي حدثنا عبد الرزاق وأبو عاصم قالا أخبرنا ابن جريج قال سمعت محمد بن عباد بن جعفر يقول أخبرني أبو سلمة بن سفيان وعبد الله بن المسيب العابدي وعبد الله بن عمرو
صلى بنا رسول الله ﷺ الصبح بمكة فاستفتح سورة المؤمنين حتى إذا جاء ذكر موسى وهارون أو ذكر موسى وعيسى ابن عباد يشك أو اختلفوا أخذت رسول الله ﷺ سعلة فحذف فركع وعبد الله بن السائب حاضر لذلك
