The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Rinsing the mouth and drawing water into the nose are part of the fitrah."Anas reported that a bedouin urinated in the masjid, and some of the people rose up against him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Leave him alone, do not interrupt him." When the man had finished, the Prophet called for a bucket of water and poured it over the spot.Abu Abdul-Rahman explained that "do not interrupt him" means do not cut him off.He did not mention letting the beard grow, and he added circumcision. He also mentioned sprinkling water, and he did not mention cleansing with water, meaning cleaning oneself after relieving oneself.
[Its chain of transmission is daif] Ibn Majah reported it in the Book of Purification, Chapter on fitrah, no. 294, from the hadith of Hammad, with the same chain. Ali bin Zayd bin Judan is daif, and the previous hadith, no. 52, suffices in its place. The hadith of Ibn Abbas was reported by Abdul-Razzaq in his Tafsir, no. 116, and Hakim graded it sahih according to the criteria of the two Shaykhs, 2/266, and Dhahabi agreed with him, and it is as they both said.
