In an abbreviated version, he said, "Let him warn it three times. If it appears to him afterward, let him kill it, for it is a devil."

مختصرا قال فليؤذنه ثلاثا فإن بدا له بعد فليقتله فإنه شيطان
Muslim narrated it through Yahya Qattan, in the same manner. See the preceding hadith, no. 5257.
