The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade killing the snakes that live in houses, except for the one with two stripes on its back and the short-tailed one, for these two snatch away eyesight and cause women to miscarry.

أن رسول الله ﷺ نهى عن قتل الجنان التي تكون في البيوت إلا أن يكون ذا الطفيتين والأبتر فإنهما يخطفان البصر ويطرحان ما في بطون النساء
