I was present with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at Hunayn. We traveled on a scorching, intensely hot day and stopped to rest under the shade of a tree. When the sun began to decline, I put on my armor and mounted my horse, then came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was in his tent.I said, "Peace be upon you, Messenger of Allah, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. The time to set out has come."He replied, "Indeed."Then he called out, "Bilal!"Bilal sprang up from beneath a samura tree, his shadow appearing like the shadow of a bird, and said, "At your service, ready to obey, may I be your ransom."The Prophet said, "Saddle the horse for me."Bilal brought out a saddle whose two sides were of palm fiber, with no extravagance or ostentation about it. He mounted, we mounted, and the narrator continued the hadith.
