Muawiya came out to Ibn Zubayr and Ibn Amir. Ibn Amir stood up, while Ibn Zubayr remained seated.Muawiya said to Ibn Amir, "Sit down, for I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Whoever loves that men should stand up for him, let him take his seat in the Fire.'"
حدثنا موسى بن إسمعيل حدثنا حماد عن حبيب بن الشهيد
خرج معاوية على ابن الزبير وابن عامر فقام ابن عامر وجلس ابن الزبير فقال معاوية لابن عامر اجلس فإني سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول من أحب أن يمثل له الرجال قياما فليتبوأ مقعده من النار
[Hasan] Tirmidhi transmitted it in the Book of Manners, chapter on the dislike of a man standing up for another man, no. 2755, from the hadith of Habib bin Shaheed, with this wording, and he said, Hasan. The hadith has a strong corroborating witness in Tabarani, 19/362, and elsewhere.
