Anas bin Malik reported,
He said, when the people of Yemen arrived, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The people of Yemen have come to you, and they are the first to introduce the handshake."

Its chain of transmission is daif. Ahmad narrated it, 3/212, and Bukhari in Adab al-Mufrad, no. 967, from the hadith of Hammad bin Salama, through Humayd Tawil, who used the ambiguous form "an" without clarifying direct transmission. His statement "and they were the first to introduce handshaking" is an interpolation from the statement of Anas
