The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "He is not one of us who calls to tribal partisanship, he is not one of us who fights for tribal partisanship, and he is not one of us who dies upon tribal partisanship."

[Its chain of transmission is daif] Ibn Adi reported it in 3/1005 from the hadith of Saeed bin Abu Ayub Al-Maliki. He is daif, and the majority of scholars judged him daif. Abu Dawud said this is a mursal report, as Abdullah bin Abu Sulayman did not hear from Jubayr, and the hadith in Muslim, no. 1848, suffices in its place.
