I came to the Prophet ﷺ while he was in a leather tent, and he mentioned something similar.
حدثنا ابن بشار حدثنا أبو عامر حدثنا سفيان عن سماك بن حرب
انتهيت إلى النبي ﷺ وهو في قبة من أدم فذكر نحوه

[Sahih] Ahmad reported it: 1/401, from Abu Amir, through him. The hadith has many corroborating narrations, including the one mentioned earlier, hadith 520.
