The Prophet ﷺ said, "There is no Muslim who goes to sleep in a state of purity while remembering Allah, then wakes during the night and asks Allah for any good of this world or the next, except that Allah grants it to him."Thabit Bunani said, Abu Zabiya came to us and narrated this hadith to us from Muaz bin Jabal from the Prophet ﷺ.Thabit said, So-and-so said, "I have struggled to say these words when I wake, but I have not been able to manage it."
حدثنا موسى بن إسمعيل حدثنا حماد أخبرنا عاصم بن بهدلة عن شهر بن حوشب عن أبي ظبية
عن النبي ﷺ قال ما من مسلم يبيت على ذكر طاهرا فيتعار من الليل فيسأل الله خيرا من الدنيا والآخرة إلا أعطاه إياه قال ثابت البناني قدم علينا أبو ظبية فحدثنا بهذا الحديث عن معاذ بن جبل عن النبي ﷺ قال ثابت قال فلان لقد جهدت أن أقولها حين أنبعث فما قدرت عليها
[Its isnad is sahih] Ibn Majah narrated it in the Book of Supplication, in the chapter on what one supplicates when waking during the night, hadith no. 3881, from the hadith of Hammad bin Salama through this route, and the hadith has other paths of transmission.
