He had companionship with the Prophet. He said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Name yourselves with the names of the prophets. The most beloved names to Allah are Abdullah and Abdul-Rahman, the most truthful are Harith and Hammam, and the ugliest are Harb and Mura."

وكانت له صحبة قال قال رسول الله ﷺ تسموا بأسماء الأنبياء وأحب الأسماء إلى الله عبد الله وعبد الرحمن وأصدقها حارث وهمام وأقبحها حرب ومرة
[Its isnad is daif]. Previously mentioned, H: 2543, 2544, 2553. Nasai also narrated it in Al-Khayl, chapter on what is preferred in the markings of horses, H: 3595, from the hadith of Hisham bin Saeed, with the same wording. Part of the hadith has corroborating narrations.
