The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever plays with dice has disobeyed Allah and His Messenger."
حدثنا عبد الله بن مسلمة عن مالك عن موسى بن ميسرة عن سعيد بن أبي هند
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال من لعب بالنرد فقد عصى الله ورسوله
[Its chain is daif] Ibn Majah collected it in Kitab al-Adab, chapter on playing backgammon, no. 3762, from the hadith of Saeed bin Hind, narrating it from him. He is trustworthy but transmitted this from Abu Musa without a direct link, so the chain is daif. It is also found in Muwatta (Yahya), 2/958, and the hadith of Muslim, no. 2260, serves in its place.
