The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There is no sin more deserving that Allah hasten its punishment upon its doer in this world, along with what He stores up for him in the hereafter, than transgression and severing ties of kinship."
حدثنا عثمان بن أبي شيبة حدثنا ابن علية عن عيينة بن عبد الرحمن عن أبيه
قال رسول الله ﷺ ما من ذنب أجدر أن يعجل الله تعالى لصاحبه العقوبة في الدنيا مع ما يدخر له في الآخرة مثل البغي وقطيعة الرحم
Its isnad is sahih. Tirmidhi transmitted it in the chapter on the description of the Resurrection, in the section on the severity of the threat against oppression and severing family ties, hadith 2511, and Ibn Majah, 4211, from the hadith of Ismail bin Ulaya with this wording. Tirmidhi said, hasan sahih. Ibn Hibban graded it sahih, hadith 2039, 2040, as did Hakim, 2/356 and 4/162, 163, and Dhahabi agreed with him.
