The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever eats a meal at the expense of a Muslim man's reputation, Allah will feed him the like of it from Hellfire. Whoever is clothed with a garment at the expense of a Muslim man's reputation, Allah will clothe him with the like of it from Hellfire. And whoever takes a stand to be seen and heard of others, Allah will expose him on the Day of Resurrection in a stand of notoriety and ostentation."
[Its chain of transmission is daif] Bukhari narrated it in Adab al-Mufrad, no. 240, from the hadith of Haywa, and Baqiyyah did not explicitly state that he heard it in the successive chain. Ahmad narrated it, 4/229, and Hakim, 4/127, 128, with a daif chain, from Waqqas bin Rabia, by the same wording, and it contains Ibn Jurayj, who did not explicitly state that he heard it, in the narration of the reliable narrators from him.
