I said to the Prophet ﷺ, "It is enough for you regarding Safiyya that she is such and such," meaning that she was short.He replied, "You have said a word that, if it were mixed with the sea, it would taint it."She said, "And I once mimicked a person to him, and he said, 'I would not like to have mimicked a person, even for such and such.'"
حدثنا مسدد حدثنا يحيى عن سفيان قال حدثني علي بن الأقمر عن أبي حذيفة
قلت للنبي ﷺ حسبك من صفية كذا وكذا قال غير مسدد تعني قصيرة فقال لقد قلت كلمة لو مزجت بماء البحر لمزجته قالت وحكيت له إنسانا فقال ما أحب أني حكيت إنسانا وأن لي كذا وكذا
[Its chain of transmission is sahih] Tirmidhi transmitted it in the Chapter on the Description of the Resurrection, section titled Hadith, "If seawater were mixed with it..." and so on, no. 2502, from the hadith of Yahya Qattan, through this route, and he said, hasan sahih.
