The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to forbid sleeping before it and conversation after it.
حدثنا مسدد حدثنا يحيى عن عوف قال حدثني أبو المنهال
كان رسول الله ﷺ ينهى عن النوم قبلها والحديث بعدها
Reported by Bukhari in the Book of Prayer Times, chapter "What is disliked regarding staying up talking after Isha," hadith no. 599, from Musaddad through the same chain.
