He reported from the Prophet ﷺ this first statement up to his words, "and its taste is bitter."Ibn Muaz added in his narration that Anas said, "We used to discuss that the example of the righteous companion..." and he continued the rest of the hadith.

Bukhari related it in the Book of the Excellences of the Quran, chapter on the sin of one who shows off by his recitation of the Quran, etc., hadith no. 5059, from Musaddad, and Muslim related it in the Book of the Prayer of Travelers, chapter on the excellence of one who has memorized the Quran, hadith no. 797, from the hadith of Yahya Qattan, with the same chain.
