So-and-so, whom Muslim named, was in the row of attendants. When Ubaydullah saw him, he said, "This Muhammadan of yours is a short, stout fellow." The old man understood what he meant and said, "I never imagined I would live to remain among a people who would taunt me for my companionship with Muhammad ﷺ."Ubaydullah said to him, "Your companionship with Muhammad ﷺ is an honor for you, not a disgrace. I only sent for you to ask you about the Pool. Did you hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ mention anything about it?"Abu Barza replied, "Yes, not once, not twice, not three times, not four, not five. Whoever denies it, may Allah never give him a drink from it." Then he walked out angry.

فلان سماه مسلم وكان في السماط فلما رآه عبيد الله قال إن محمديكم هذا الدحداح ففهمها الشيخ فقال ما كنت أحسب أني أبقى في قوم يعيروني بصحبة محمد ﷺ فقال له عبيد الله إن صحبة محمد ﷺ لك زين غير شين قال إنما بعثت إليك لأسألك عن الحوض سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يذكر فيه شيئا فقال له أبو برزة نعم لا مرة ولا ثنتين ولا ثلاثا ولا أربعا ولا خمسا فمن كذب به فلا سقاه الله منه ثم خرج مغضبا
