The Prophet ﷺ said, "Adam and Musa argued with each other.Musa said, 'Adam, you are our father. You disappointed us and caused us to be expelled from Paradise.'Adam replied, 'You are Musa, whom Allah chose with His speech and for whom He wrote the Torah with His own hand. Do you blame me for a matter that Allah decreed for me forty years before He created me?'So Adam outargued Musa."Ahmad bin Salih reported from Amr, from Tawus, that he heard Abu Hurayrah.
حدثنا مسدد حدثنا سفيان ح و حدثنا أحمد بن صالح المعنى قال حدثنا سفيان بن عيينة عن عمرو بن دينار سمع طاوسا يقول سمعت
عن النبي ﷺ قال احتج آدم وموسى فقال موسى يا آدم أنت أبونا خيبتنا وأخرجتنا من الجنة فقال آدم أنت موسى اصطفاك الله بكلامه وخط لك التوراة بيده تلومني على أمر قدره علي قبل أن يخلقني بأربعين سنة فحج آدم موسى قال أحمد بن صالح عن عمرو عن طاوس سمع أبا هريرة
Bukhari narrated it in the book of Qadar, chapter of Adam and Musa disputing before Allah, hadith no. 6614, and Muslim in the book of Qadar, chapter of the dispute of Adam and Musa, hadith no. 2652, from the hadith of Sufyan bin Uyayna, through the same chain.
