The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said that Musa said, "Perhaps Allah..." and Ibn Sinan said, "Allah looked upon the people of Badr and said, 'Do as you wish, for I have forgiven you.'"
حدثنا موسى بن إسمعيل حدثنا حماد بن سلمة ح و حدثنا أحمد بن سنان حدثنا يزيد بن هارون أخبرنا حماد بن سلمة عن عاصم عن أبي صالح
قال رسول الله ﷺ قال موسى فلعل الله وقال ابن سنان اطلع الله على أهل بدر فقال اعملوا ما شئتم فقد غفرت لكم
Its isnad is hasan. Ahmad reported it (2/295, 296) from Yazid bin Harun with this chain, and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih (h: 2220), as did Hakim (4/77, 78), and Dhahabi agreed with him.
