I attended the Friday prayer with Hajjaj, and he delivered a sermon in which he mentioned the hadith reported by Abu Bakr bin Ayyash. In it he said, "Listen and obey the caliph of Allah and His chosen one, Abdul-Malik bin Marwan." He then continued with the hadith and said, "Even if I were to seize Rabia for the offense of Mudar." He did not mention the story of the Hamra.
