Two women were married to a man from Huzayl. One of them struck the other with a tent pole, killing her along with the unborn child she was carrying. The dispute was brought before the Prophet ﷺ.One of the two men said, "How can we pay blood-money for one who never cried, never ate, never drank, and never made a sound at birth?"The Prophet ﷺ replied, "Is this rhymed prose like the rhymed prose of the Bedouins?"He then ruled that compensation of a slave, male or female, was due for the unborn child, and he made it the responsibility of the woman's paternal male relatives.
