The Prophet ﷺ narrated this hadith, saying that each time she commits the offense, he should administer the punishment prescribed by the Book of Allah without rebuking her. On the fourth occasion, he said that if she repeats it, he should administer the punishment prescribed by the Book of Allah, then sell her, even if only for a rope of hair.

[Sahih] Nasai narrated it in al-Kubra, no. 7244, from the hadith of Muhammad bin Salama, transmitted through him. Bukhari, no. 6839, and Muslim, no. 1703, also narrated it from the hadith of Saeed bin Abu Saeed Maqburi, transmitted through him.
