The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If a slave steals, sell him, even for half an ounce."
حدثنا موسى يعني ابن إسمعيل حدثنا أبو عوانة عن عمر بن أبي سلمة عن أبيه
قال رسول الله ﷺ إذا سرق المملوك فبعه ولو بنش
[Hasan] Ibn Majah reported it in "Hudud," chapter "The Slave Who Steals," h: 2589, and Nasai, h: 4983, from the hadith of Abu Awana with the same wording, and he said, "Umar bin Abu Salama is not strong in hadith." Umar bin Abu Salama was deemed reliable by most scholars, and his hadith is hasan.
