The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Time will draw close, knowledge will diminish, tribulations will appear, miserliness will be cast into hearts, and harj will increase."Someone asked, "Messenger of Allah, what is harj?"He replied, "Killing, killing."
حدثنا أحمد بن صالح حدثنا عنبسة حدثني يونس عن ابن شهاب قال حدثني حميد بن عبد الرحمن أن
قال رسول الله ﷺ يتقارب الزمان وينقص العلم وتظهر الفتن ويلقى الشح ويكثر الهرج قيل يا رسول الله أية هو قال القتل القتل
Muslim narrated it, in the Book of Knowledge, in the chapter on the withdrawal and disappearance of knowledge and the emergence of ignorance and turmoil in the end times, hadith 11/157, after hadith 2672, from the hadith of Yunus bin Yazid through this same chain, and Bukhari mentioned it with a suspended chain, in the Book of Turmoil, in the chapter on the emergence of turmoil, hadith 7061.
