The Prophet ﷺ had a container of perfume from which he would apply scent.

كانت للنبي ﷺ سكة يتطيب منها
[Its chain of transmission is hasan] Tirmidhi narrated it in Shamail, no. 215 (in my edition) from the hadith of Abu Ahmad Zubayri, through this route.
