The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would not leave anything in his house bearing the image of a cross without breaking it.
حدثنا موسى بن إسمعيل حدثنا أبان حدثنا يحيى حدثنا عمران بن حطان
أن رسول الله ﷺ كان لا يترك في بيته شيئا فيه تصليب إلا قضبه
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Clothing, Chapter on the Destruction of Images, no. 5952, from the hadith of Yahya bin Abu Kathir through this same chain.
