I used to pray Zuhr with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and I would take a handful of pebbles to let them cool in my palm, then place them down for my forehead to prostrate upon, because of the intense heat.

كنت أصلي الظهر مع رسول الله ﷺ فآخذ قبضة من الحصى لتبرد في كفي أضعها لجبهتي أسجد عليها لشدة الحر
[Its isnad is hasan]. Nasai narrated it in the chapter on cooling pebbles to prostrate on them, hadith no. 1082, from the hadith of Abbad bin Abbad by this route, and Abdul-Wahhab Thaqafi followed him in narrating it, as recorded by Ibn Hibban, hadith no. 267.
