A woman from the Kharijah branch of Qays Aylan said, "My uncle brought me to Madinah during the days of ignorance and sold me to Hubab bin Amr, the brother of Abu Yusr bin Amr. I bore him a son, Abdul-Rahman bin Hubab, and then he died. His wife said, 'Now, by Allah, you will be sold to pay off his debt.'So I went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, 'Messenger of Allah, I am a woman from the Kharijah branch of Qays Aylan. My uncle brought me to Madinah during the days of ignorance and sold me to Hubab bin Amr, the brother of Abu Yusr bin Amr. I bore him a son, Abdul-Rahman bin Hubab, and his wife has said, "Now, by Allah, you will be sold to pay off his debt."'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked, 'Who is the guardian of Hubab's estate?'He was told, 'His brother, Abu Yusr bin Amr.'So he sent for him and said, 'Free her, and when you hear that slaves have arrived for me, come to me and I will compensate you for her.'"She said, "So they freed me, and when slaves arrived for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he compensated them with a young male slave in place of me."
