Barirah came seeking help with her writ of manumission. She said, "I have made a contract with my owners to pay nine ounces, one ounce each year. Please help me."Aisha said, "If your owners agree that I pay the entire amount at once and free you, with your loyalty bond going to me, I will do it."So Barirah went to her owners. The narrator then continued the hadith in a manner similar to the report of Zuhri, with an addition at the end concerning the words of the Prophet ﷺ, "What is the matter with some men, one of them says, 'Free so-and-so, but the loyalty bond will be mine'? The loyalty bond belongs only to the one who grants the freedom."
