The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Believing in evil omens is a form of associating partners with Allah. Believing in evil omens is a form of associating partners with Allah. Believing in evil omens is a form of associating partners with Allah. There is none of us who does not feel something of it, but Allah removes it through reliance upon Him."
حدثنا محمد بن كثير أخبرنا سفيان عن سلمة بن كهيل عن عيسى بن عاصم عن زر بن حبيش
عن رسول الله ﷺ قال الطيرة شرك الطيرة شرك ثلاثا وما منا إلا ولكن الله يذهبه بالتوكل
[Sahih] Reported by Tirmidhi, in "Sayr", chapter on what has been said about superstitious omens, hadith no. 1614, and Ibn Majah, hadith no. 3538, from the hadith of Sufyan by this route, and Shubah followed him in agreement, as reported by Tayalisi, hadith no. 356. Tirmidhi said, "Hasan sahih." Ibn Hibban graded it sahih, hadith no. 1427, as did Hakim, 18/1.
