Alaqah bin Sahar Tamimi reported,

He came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and accepted Islam, then set off returning from him. He passed by a group of people who had with them a madman bound in iron chains. His family said, "We have been told that this companion of yours has come with good. Do you have anything with which to treat him?"So I recited over him the Opening of the Book, and he recovered. They gave me a hundred sheep. I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and informed him.He asked, "Is there anything besides this?" Musaddad said in another place, "Did you say anything other than this?"I replied, "No."He said, "Take them. By my life, whoever consumes payment for a false incantation, you have consumed payment for a true one."

عن خارجة بن الصلت التميمي عن عمه

أنه أتى رسول الله ﷺ فأسلم ثم أقبل راجعا من عنده فمر على قوم عندهم رجل مجنون موثق بالحديد فقال أهله إنا حدثنا أن صاحبكم هذا قد جاء بخير فهل عندك شيء تداويه فرقيته بفاتحة الكتاب فبرأ فأعطوني مائة شاة فأتيت رسول الله ﷺ فأخبرته فقال هل إلا هذا وقال مسدد في موضع آخر هل قلت غير هذا قلت لا قال خذها فلعمري لمن أكل برقية باطل لقد أكلت برقية حق
