It is reported from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that he visited Thabit bin Qays. Ahmad added, while he was ill. He said, "Remove the affliction, Lord of mankind, from Thabit bin Qays bin Shammas." Then he took some dust from Bathan, placed it in a cup, blew on it with some water, and poured it over him.

عن رسول الله ﷺ أنه دخل على ثابت بن قيس قال أحمد وهو مريض فقال اكشف البأس رب الناس عن ثابت بن قيس بن شماس ثم أخذ ترابا من بطحان فجعله في قدح ثم نفث عليه بماء وصبه عليه

[Its chain of transmission is daif] Nasai narrated it in Al-Kubra, no. 10856, 10889, and in Amal al-Yawm wal-Layla, no. 1017, 1040, from the hadith of Abdullah bin Wahb, through the same route, and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih, no. 1418. Yusuf bin Muhammad was vouched for as reliable by no one except Ibn Hibban.
